At Betano Ecuador, winnings from sports predictions are subject to an automatic withholding of 15%, in accordance with Executive Decree No. 422. The important thing to understand is how it is calculated: the deduction is not applied to the total of your accumulated winnings for the day, week, or month, but individually on the prize of each predicted event. In other words, each winning ticket pays its own tax, independently from the rest of your bets.
How Does This Work in Practice?
If your ticket has a potential gross winning of $41.00, 15% ($3.15) is withheld, and the balance you receive is $37.85 as net winnings. This calculation is repeated ticket by ticket: if you win three different bets, each one is settled with its own 15% withholding; the three winnings are not summed first to then apply the deduction.

When and How Is the Deduction Applied?
The withholding corresponds to the Unique Income Tax for Sports Prediction Operators and is automatically deducted at the moment each winning ticket is settled, before the money reaches your balance. You do not have to declare anything or make any additional payment: the tax is withheld at the source.
Finally, it is worth clarifying that this withholding only applies to the prize of a winning prediction: it does not affect your deposits, the balance you already have available, or the money you withdraw beyond what was already deducted at the time of winning.
